Conformation
Every
purebred dog breed recognized by the American Kennel
Club has a written standard (Norwich
Terrier,
Norfolk Terrier) that
describes in detail what the dog should look like.
Norwich and Norfolk terrier breeders and
fanciers take this standard very seriously.
The main purpose of exhibiting a dog
in a dog show is to earn points toward a Champion
title for the dog. A dog with a Champion title has
been judged by a minimum of three judges in three
different dogs shows and has been determined to be
the dog or bitch, at that show, as the one that most
closely meets the description of the dog described
in the breed standard.
